Something’s going on in Des Moines right now. A talented crop of singer/songwriters are releasing new music, playing incredible shows and raising the bar on the Midwest music scene.

One of these talented young lads is Danny Heggen of the Seedlings.

I had the pleasure of having excellent musicians Danny Heggen, Jacob Tyler Wolfgang, Scott Gratton, Laura Gratton, and Tina Findlay stand in for the day. Also, friends and talented local bands Menlo, Beati Paoli, Maxilla Blue, and Cashes Rivers played throughout the night…good vibes all around.

My friend Danny Heggen (of local folk group Seedlings) has just written a book about homelessness in Central Iowa. The book release is Friday, June 12th at the Mars Cafe in Des Moines, IA.
