Cover Up

My friend Tina asked me the other day “What cover songs are you going to play?” I just looked at her blankly.

So, in interest of choosing the tunes YOU want to hear…chime in!

What songs would you like to hear or see Finn Miles cover? Comment or shoot us an email at finnmiles@finnmiles.com.

We’re all ears.

Rock Show Envy

There may be no better band in the Midwest, likely in Iowa, than The Envy Corps. In light of their local legacy, and inherent awesomeness I feel obligated to suggest attendance to their Kidglove EP concert at the Vaudville Mews on June 4th.

Go ahead, pencil it in on your calendar; listen to The Envy Corps backlog and get ready to rock!

Native Son – Soundtrack for dramatic reading

Heya,

What better thing to do than collaborate with great artists? I recently crossed paths with outstanding artist Josh Larson of God at Play and have collaborated with him on a little prototype digital media project. The project is a dramatic reading and “controlled” visual animation with soundtrack. I’m sure Josh will wax poetic about the details on his blog, but I thought I’d share the long-mix of the soundtrack with my Finn Miles readers.

That’s right…we do soundtracks!

Menlo @ Mars Tonight – Scented Vinyl Acoustic

Hello friends,

Tonight in Des Moines, IA there is a very special Scented Vinyl at the Mars Cafe. My friend Scott Yoshimura (known in solo musical form as Menlo) will be sharing thoughts and music with Dan Bosman and all available listeners. Scott has a great voice and has written a small collection of really charming acoustic ditties. Check it out tonight – the music starts around 7:30pm – Support local music, Des Moines!
